Dallas, TX – Lee Strobel, author and speaker best known for his book-turned-film “The Case for Christ,” encouraged the DBU student body through his challenging message in the Monday morning Chapel service. His talk centered around the truth that, for the Christian, there is no need to be fearful of asking or receiving challenging faith questions.
“We have a defensible faith,” shared Strobel. “We have an unfair advantage in the marketplace of ideas… for [believers], the keyword is not ‘debate,’ but ‘dialogue’.”
Strobel explained that questions should always be expected in life, especially in regard to our faith. Whether they are internal or from others, believers should embrace these questions, but not stop there – they must seek out answers.
“I cannot think of any instance where Jesus slammed the door in the face of someone with a question.”
A curious and thoughtful mind, therefore, helps to best prepare believers for the questions of life and, in turn, to engage in Gospel conversations in order to best make their case.
“Dr. Strobel was both an encouragement and inspiration to our students,” explained DBU President, Dr. Adam Wright. “Lee Strobel is a leading voice in evangelism efforts and continues to use his scholarship in a very practical and relevant approach as we seek to live out the Great Commission in our daily lives.”
