Today we visited The White House, The Capitol Building, and the National Gallery. We also visited with two leading Christian attorneys, as well as U.S. Senator James Lankford, and Stephen Boyd, a DBU alumnus who works on Sen. Lankford’s staff (pictured above). This day was truly a work of the Lord. Starting off our day in the shadow of the White House, Dr.Taylor spoke to us about the unique and divine timing of the Lord and how we are all called to play a specific part in the plans of God.

So, standing in the shadow of a building that has commanded the destiny of millions, we contemplated what role God had for us in the great span of eternity.

From there we spoke with Michael Francisco and Farnaz Thompson, two Christian Attorneys on Capitol Hill, who challenged us to grow in faith and maturity and prepare for life doing everything in excellence for the Lord. Our next stop was on the steps of the Capitol Building where Senator James Lankford encouraged us to discern the voice of God and trust where he leads. It was truly amazing to see how Senator Lankford used his faith as a witness in the context of governmental power. We then walked around Capitol Hill, taking pictures at the Supreme Court and touring the National Gallery. We ended the day with another evening of fine dining and more nighttime exploring at the National Mall. Though our days have been full, I can honestly say God is working, moving, and inspiring the hearts of each individual on this trip to lean in and discern what the will of God is for their lives.
