Justin Giboney Speaks on Redemptive Justice
DBU recently hosted Justin Giboney for a special webinar version of DBU’s Veritas lecture series event. Hosted by the Institute for Global Engagement, Veritas invites Christian leaders from a variety of backgrounds to provide perspective and engage in current topics that impact the world, including leadership, economics, global politics, and racial relations.
As co-founder and president of The AND Campaign, Justin Giboney seeks to educate and organize Christians for civic and cultural engagement that results in better representation, more just and compassionate policies, and a healthier political culture. Justin Giboney is an attorney and political strategist, frequently writes for publications such as Christianity Today and The Hill, and served as the co-chair of Obama for America's Gen44-Atlanta initiative.
Watch the recap video above for our discussion on Christian civics and community engagement as Justin Giboney unpacks questions like:
- What does a concern for the common good look like?
- How can believers engage with both compassion and conviction?
- Why should informed civility be integral to the life of a believer?
Race & Justice Book Club Opportunity
This semester, full-time faculty and staff members from DBU's Institute for Global Engagement and the Cook School of Leadership will lead 3 book clubs pertaining to race and justice. These groups are intended to serve as a jumping-off point for dialogue and conversation among our student body.
