Dallas Baptist University celebrated its 172 bachelor's, master's, and doctoral graduates during this summer's Commencement on Friday, August 7.

In lieu of the traditional festivities held in Pilgrim Chapel, the accomplishments of the summer graduates were recognized and celebrated in an online ceremony on Facebook with their individual names read aloud and featured prominently on the scoreboard of the DBU baseball field.
The Commencement address was given by Dr. Adam C. Wright, DBU President. In his remarks, Dr. Wright discussed the reality that we are living in "interesting and challenging times," which have been "full of disappointments." Yet he encouraged the graduates to remember that God is still on His throne and is at work to develop His strength in them. He will remain faithful to them, so they are called to remain faithful to Him.
As a special treat from DBU, graduates also received an exciting package in the mail leading up to graduation day. Full of confetti poppers, a DBU banner for snapping celebratory photos with family and friends, and a cup and car decal officially welcoming them into the DBU Alumni family, "Graduation-in-a-box" was an expression of gratitude for the graduates in the midst of pandemic and to honor their accomplishments as they now step out from a season of preparation in pursuit of their callings to the glory of God.
