DBU Alumna Named Texas Student Teacher of the Year
While many have the ability and training to teach children, certain individuals clearly possess a deep passion for doing more than just communicating information to a group of students. One such individual is DBU Alumna Alyssa Feuerbach.
With a heart for creating a positive, loving, and stimulating learning environment for her students, it is no surprise that Feuerbach was named the 2018 Texas Student Teacher of the Year by the Texas Directors of Field Experiences. Criteria for the award included references, essays, written lesson plans, and a video of her teaching in the classroom. Feuerbach was notified of the achievement this past May and will officially accept the award this month at a ceremony in San Antonio.
Feuerbach graduated from DBU in May 2018 with her Bachelor of Science in Education with a focus in Early Childhood through Sixth Grade. She began her first year in the classroom full time this August as a first grade teacher in Frisco ISD.
