Tree Campus USA Recognition
Dallas, TX - One of the goals of Dallas Baptist University is to offer a beautiful campus to its students all year round by continually improving the campus through landscaping.
In 2014, DBU was recognized for the third year in a row by the Tree Campus USA Program which was launched in 2008 through the collaborative efforts of the Arbor Day Foundation and Toyota. Tree Campus USA's goal is to promote healthy tree growth and to engage the students and staff in a countrywide health initiative.
The University takes pride in its beautiful landscaping, and in 2013, the National Public Garden Association named DBU an official arboretum.
Over the last 27 years, Dallas Baptist University has diligently worked to beautify the campus through the building of gazebos, gardens, and the planting of hundreds of trees.
Specifically, DBU has planted over 80 trees in the past year a corner of the campus to create a new park, and because of this development, the University received a Green Star Honor Award for excellence in Grounds Management by the Professional Grounds Management Society.
