SUMMER 2023 27 Since 1981, the Edmund F. Boettcher Foundation has generously provided scholarships for music students at DBU. This legacy of five decades of generosity has continued to allow DBU students to advance their Godgiven musical talents in numerous ways. “We are so grateful to the Boettcher Foundation and their continuous support of our mission here at DBU,” said Dr. Wes Moore, Dean of the College of Fine Arts. “Thanks to their generosity, hundreds of students have been able to pursue their educational dreams.” Edmund F. Boettcher, tenor soloist, choral conductor, and recording artist, was a professional musician for nearly two generations. During his lifetime, he provided financial assistance to music programs and continues this support after his death through the foundation, which was established in 1979. Every Spring, a special Boettcher Recital is held to highlight the talents of those students to whom the scholarship is awarded. “Like many of DBU‘s generous donors, the Boettcher‘s did not attend DBU but are extremely supportive of the mission and vision of DBU to be a University that is honoring and pleasing to God,” explained Ryan Hefton, DBU Vice President for Advancement. “We are sincerely grateful for the legacy of the Boettcher Foundation and the impact they are making at DBU, as well as the leadership of John Clem in working with the Boettcher Foundation here at DBU over these past 42 years.” BOETTCHER FOUNDATION MAINTAINS FIVE DECADES OF SUPPORTING DBU STUDENTS Edmund F.
