One of the most important things an incoming student might benefit from knowing is where and how to study. We know that amidst all your social activities and time spent with friends, you will also be studying hard, so here are some of the best study locations at DBU.

The Library

It may seem too obvious to list, but the DBU library is one of the best places to study on campus. You have tons of chairs, tables, books, WiFi, and the library staff to help answer just about any question you might have. Plus, you have a couple of eating options just steps away, and the Computer Lab.

DBU Coffeehouse

When studying on campus, the DBU Coffeehouse is a frequent go-to. Grab a cup of joe and nab a study room or quiet corner to crank out those assignments.

The Union

If you need to combine study with a bit of food, try grabbing a burger at the Union. There are great booths for group or individual study, and you can’t beat the meal!

Dorm Study Rooms

In each dorm, there are study rooms that allow you the most close and convenient study spaces. Grab a group of friends and take it to the study rooms! And for the gals, the fourth floor of Spence is a must!

The Sellar

Many of your freshman-year study moments will likely be spent in the back booths of The Sellar because you’ll find that it is a unique study space with vending machines and ping-pong tables, which make for great study breaks.

Though it’s important to know where to study, it’s just as important to know how to study. Here are a few quick tips to encourage your study habits:

Group Study Sessions

It’s fun to live in a community like DBU because group study sessions are easily accessible. Not only are you able to be around people you love, but you’re also studying and getting things done.

Quizlet

Quizlet is a college student’s best friend, and we understand why. It provides online and personalized notecards, learning games, and practice tests to get you prepared for any upcoming assignments.

Tutoring Center

If you are not understanding a class or concept well, head over to the tutoring center. DBU provides free tutoring for any enrolled student. You will be placed with a personal tutor who is well-versed in the subject you need help in!
