Senior Fellow for Religious Freedom
Dr. Randel Everett accepted the position of Senior Fellow for Religious Freedom at Dallas Baptist University after retiring as Founding President of 21 Wilberforce.
He spent four decades as pastor of churches in Florida, Virginia, Arkansas, and Texas before founding 21Wilberforce in 2014 to focus attention on religious persecution abroad and the enduring importance of religious liberty in the United States.
Everett was the Founding President of the John Leland Center for Theological Studies in Falls Church, Virginia and served as the Executive Director of the Baptist General Convention of Texas.
Throughout his career, Everett has traveled to nearly 50 countries, meeting with religious and government leaders and witnessing first-hand the ravages of persecution.
He holds a bachelor’s degree from Ouachita Baptist University in Arkansas and Master of Divinity and Doctor of Ministry degrees from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas. Dr. Everett also has an honorary Doctor of Divinity from the University of Richmond and Doctor of Humanities from Dallas Baptist University.
He and his wife Sheila live in Pensacola, Florida. Their son Jeremy and his wife Amy, live in Waco and have three sons: Lucas, Sam and Wyatt. Their daughter, Rachel, and her husband Eric, live in Orlando with their daughter Klara.
