Q.  What is the difference between the Weekend College and the College of Adult Education?

A.  The Weekend College is an integral part of the College of Adult Education. The primary difference is that many students, adult or traditional-age, can take courses on the weekend. The Weekend College also offers degrees available entirely on the weekend, including the Bachelor of Business Studies in Business Administration and Management and the Master of Business Administration in Management.

Q.  Do I have to apply separately to the Weekend College?

A.  No, by applying and being accepted to DBU you are eligible to take courses at many different times, including on weekends. There are some limitations on when traditional-age students are able to take Weekend College courses. For more information, see the Traditional-Age Students page.

Q.  How do I register for a Weekend College course?

A.  To register, simply tell your advisor which course you want to take. He/she will assist you from there.

Q.  How do I know when a Weekend College class meets?

A.  Weekend College courses meet on a different schedule from most university courses. To find out exactly when a class meets, you have several options:
-Look at the Schedule of Classes for the current semester and check the “Prerequisites and Other Notes” section on the right hand column. Dates for Weekend College courses will be listed in this area.
-If you are not sure, call your advisor and ask him/her to clarify.

Q.  Can a traditional-age student take Weekend College courses?

A.  Traditional-age students are welcome in Weekend College courses! There are a few basic guidelines for a traditional student taking Weekend College Courses: Traditional-age students with more than 60 hours may take Friday night courses, and all traditional-age students can take Saturday courses.  For more information, click here.
