Bible Studies
Several opportunities
for Bible study, prayer, and fellowship are scheduled weekly.
BSM NoonDays is sponsored by the Baptist
Student Ministry with area churches hosting a luncheon
each Wednesday. Other Bible studies are sponsored by the BSM
and other DBU student organizations throughout the semester.
Fine
Arts Groups
DBU
sponsors various touring student groups who perform locally,
regionally, nationally, and internationally in churches, schools,
and concert halls on behalf of the university. Auditions are
scheduled through the Department of Music each year for University
Chorale, Chamber Singers, Consort Singers, Musical Theatre
Ensemble, Opera Workshop, University Ringers, and Symphonic
Winds.
Summer Missions
Southern Baptist agencies
offer positions of ministry for students during summer months.
Students are encouraged to prayerfully consider and apply
for positions. The Texas Baptist Student Ministry places students
in these positions. All students are challenged to support
DBU Summer Missions through voluntary BSM service.
Worship
Monday, Wednesday, and
Friday chapel services are scheduled weekly at 10:00 a.m.
in the Burg Center. Special convocations, in addition to spiritual
emphasis weeks, are scheduled in both the fall and spring
semesters.
