Christmas Tree Lighting.
The start of  "Christmas on the Hill" begins annually with the Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony. Carols are sung, and hot chocolate and cookies are served.

Family Weekend.
This weekend provides an opportunity for parents to visit the campus and meet members of the DBU community.

Graduates' Candlelighting Service
This evening provides a time of reflection for graduates, prior to winter, spring, and summer commencement exercises.

Grandparents' Day. 
Grandparents' Day is held annually in conjunction with the Norvell Slater Hymn Sing. This is a special day set aside for students to spend time with their grandparents. It is a unique opportunity for the grandparents to see their grandchild in his/her college environment. Our hope is to bridge the gap between the generations and strengthen family bonds.

Habitat for Humanity Turkey Trot.
Students, faculty, and staff participate each fall in a 5k run/walk in order to raise money for Habitat for Humanity International, which is a non-profit organization dedicated to eliminating poverty housing in the United States and around the world.

Homecoming.
A week during the fall semester is set aside to welcome alumni, parents, faculty, and staff to campus for special events. Events include: Homecoming Chapel, where the homecoming court is recognized; Mr. Big Chief, a mock pageant for male students;  Family Fall Festival, sponsored by the DBU Lab School, providing families a fun-filled carnival-type experience; and Homecoming Banquet, a semi-formal social scheduled off campus for current students.

New Student Reception.
This reception, hosted by DBU's Women's Auxiliary Board, offers an opportunity for new students to meet the university president. It is held during Student Welcome and Transition Week at the President's home.

Sadie Hawkins. This annual banquet features a buffet and concert. This event offers the girls an opportunity to ask a guy for a date.

Spiritual Rush Weekend. A weekend is set aside during the fall semester in which students stay in the homes of faculty and staff, while participating in small group discussion with a spiritual emphasis.

Spring Revival. A week of spiritual emphasis is held annually during the spring semester.

Spring Musical.
Each spring the College of Fine Arts presents a full-scale drama or musical. Past years' presentations have included Fiddler on the Roof, Sound of Music, Music Man, My Fair Lady, Oklahoma!, Hello, Dolly, Camelot, Carousel, and the drama The Hiding Place.

Staley Distinguished Lecturers
Each year a well-known speaker is invited to the campus to give a series of lectures on the topic of that speaker's expertise.

Student Welcome and Transition Week
This is a time of orientation and community building activities at which students are challenged to develop spiritually, academically, socially, and mentally during college years. SWAT Week is held the week before the fall semester for all new freshman and transfer students.

Thanksgiving Celebration
This is a service of music, involving all of the groups from the College of Fine Arts and the DBU Lab School, centered around the Thanksgiving theme. The program is performed on campus the Friday before Thanksgiving.
