David Ridley speaks to the crowd from the podium in Sadler Hall

Dallas, TX – David A. Ridley, founder and former CEO of Invesco Real Estate, spoke at the BLAST Luncheon at Dallas Baptist University on Tuesday, October 31.

Held every semester, the BLAST (Business Luncheon and Seminar Training) series provides an opportunity for distinguished, Christian businessmen and women to speak with current faculty, staff, students, and guests of DBU.

David Ridley began IRE in 1983, and for over 30 years served as the CEO and advisor for the company. While in leadership, the company grew to be one of the most successful real estate funds management firms in the world. He expanded the business into a multi-national company with over 400 employees and $70 billion in assets under management.

Ridley spoke about “winning without regrets,” and the central message of his speech encouraged leaders to focus on Christ first and let everything else follow. Ridley’s passion to help individuals and organizations increase their productivity could be clearly seen as he described the correct factors necessary to build enduring legacies and enable them to win without regrets.

“To hear David Ridley, a man of such notable business accomplishments, speak with such humility and love for the Lord was encouraging,” explained Brittni Bean, a student in the DBU Master of Arts in Leadership program. “He provided practical advice on running a business, putting together the right team, and maintaining high standards, but more than that, he pointed people to Jesus.”

Mr. Ridley currently resides with his wife, Kelly, in Dallas, where he mentors young businessmen and serves on the Board of Grad Resources.
