Post-Colonial Extra Credit Option

The undergraduate student may elect to read either Franz Fanon's The Wretched of the Earth or Paulo Freire's Pedagogy of the Oppressed for 25 points extra credit. You should submit a 2-to-3-page reading report that answers the follow questions:

  1. Do you find anything interesting or surprising about the book? Why or Why not?

  2. Did the book cause you to change your mind (and/or actions) in anyway? Why or why not?

  3. How does the book's content relate to post-colonialism and post-colonial literature?

  4. What can someone expect to learn by reading this book?

  5.  What further questions do you have about the book's content, and how do you plan to resolve these questions?

This report must be submitted before the last day of class. As always, your writing should observe all the marks of college-level writing, including sufficient development of ideas and support from the text in question.
