Students who wish to use wireless internet may need to purchase hardware* that will allow wireless connection.  The wireless cards below are recommended for our campus. They can be found at any local computer store (i.e. Fry's Electronics, Comp USA, Circuit City).  

We do not recommend using USB network wireless devices as the signal on these are not strong enough to provide reliable reception.  We also ask that you do not bring your own access points, hubs, or signal boosters. It is against our network access policy because it is a security breech. We also ask that you have updated definitions, anti-virus and anti-spyware software loaded on to your computer already.

For Desktop Computers we recommend:

Linksys Wireless-G 802.11g PCI Adapter with SRX (Model Number: WMP54GX)

If the adapter above is not available, the following will also work; however, you will need to purchase both the adapter and an antenna to obtain adequate reception.

For Notebooks:
First, please check to see if the model of notebook you have already has a wireless card built in to it. If not, here are some recommended cards to use.
