DBU Track & Field

History

     

Track has a long, rich history at Dallas Baptist University. From 1972 - when DBU won the NAIA National Indoor Track Championship - to 2001, when Denny Giles leapt his way to the national championship in the high jump at the NAIA National Indoor Championships in Johnson City, Tennessee.

In all, DBU has won three individual national championships in the high jump. The women's track program narrowly missed an individual national champion in 2000, when Libby Bloodsworth took third in the 3000 meter at the NAIA National Indoor Championships held at the University of Nebraska. DBU sent five athletes to the 2001 national championships and is looking to surpass that in the 2003 track season.
