Patriot Field

Patriot Field was completed in the summer of 1983 and has since been known for having one of the best natural grass surfaces in the Southwest. Phase I of the complex consisted of a new playing surface, new grandstand seating, spacious dugouts, and a new batting tunnel. Two more batting tunnels were added to the facility in 1985 along with a modern concession.

A fund raising drive, which began in September 1990 to ensure the Dallas Baptist program’s future as a national power, led to the installation of a high quality lighting system in the summer of 1992. A new press box and additional seating were added to the park in 1996 In the summer of 1997, a new red-brick wall and backstop net were added behind home plate.

A newly constructed outfield fence was installed for the opening of the 2000 season. In 2001, a new wrought iron fence was installed around the perimeter of the ballpark and in 2002, padded sideline wall fencing was erected and renovations were recently completed on the Patriots’ locker room and indoor batting cage/bullpen facility. In the summer of 2004, the field was resurfaced with Tiff Bermuda. A state-of-the-art scoreboard was added in the summer of 2005.

Patriot Field was home to the 2001 Chuck and Aaron Norris television production of CBS’ “The Presidents Man.” Patriot Field served as the home field to the Texas University Baseball team featured in the Norris television movie.

The Dallas Baptist University Patriots have a 403-68-1 (85%) record at home over the past 13 years.
